Dr Judy Ku is an internationally fellowship trained Ophthalmologist specialising in Cataract, Glaucoma (Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery and conventional surgery), Pterygium/ Ocular Surface Neoplasia & Corneal Collagen Cross-linking.  

Dr Ku is one of very few surgeons who has completed both Glaucoma and Corneal/ Anterior segment fellowships. This dual qualification offers a unique dimension to her practice, allowing her to manage glaucoma & anterior segment cases with a comprehensive and precise approach.  

Dr Ku is part of advisory boards assisting in the development of Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgeries (MIGS) and Minimally Invasive Bleb Surgeries (MIBS) and she is an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Optometry & Vision Science at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Dr Ku began her Ophthalmology career in the United Kingdom in 2003. Following this, she returned to Australasia to complete her training with prestigious Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO).

Dr Ku completed extensive advanced micro-surgical training, including two fellowships in world-renowned institutes in Singapore and Toronto. 

During her fellowship training, Dr Ku developed expertise in the management and surgery of primary and complex glaucoma patients (especially Primary Angle Closure Glaucoma & minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries). Furthermore, she also gained expertise in the following treatments: complex cataract surgery, pterygium and ocular surface reconstructive surgery and collagen cross-linking for keratoconus, as well as ocular imaging. She is passionate about assisting her patients to achieve their full visual potential. She feels extremely privileged to have the opportunity to restore sight and to improve people’s quality of life. She prides herself on her genuine warmth, empathy and ability to communicate effectively.
